Sirah-Story Telling Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in the year 570 CE in the city of Mecca, located in present-day Saudi Arabia. This year is also known as the “Year of the Elephant,” named after an attempted invasion of Mecca by Abraha, who came with an army that included elephants. According to Islamic tradition, his birth was accompanied by several miraculous signs indicating his future greatness.He was born into the respected tribe of Quraysh, specifically the Banu Hashim clan. His father, Abdullah, died before he was born, and his mother, Aminah, passed away when he was only six years old. Thus, Muhammad became an orphan at an early age and was cared for first by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and then by his uncle, Abu Talib.From a young age, Muhammad was known for his honesty, integrity, and kind nature. People called him Al-Amin, meaning “the trustworthy.” His early life was marked by modesty and reflection. Although he grew up in a society steeped in idolatry and tribal conflict, he stayed away from these practices, showing signs of deep spiritual awareness.
